Wardrobe

Anyone can bring clothes to the public wardrobe that can be used by people in need. The wardrobe is primarily used by homeless people.

We modified the cabinet together, ensured its repair and transported it to a designated place, which was approved by the city district. We left the front part of the cabinet free so that anyone could contribute their artistic skills. We took paints and brushes and the public wardrobe became a loose canvas for a moment.

On the day of its unveiling, we invited members of Tlusá čára, as well as volunteers and donors who wanted to contribute the clothing. We also provided a place for rest, refreshments and the opportunity to discuss together. Our friends, who live in shelters or on the street, also came to the event, and thanks to them we were able to get further suggestions on the issue of homelessness.

Public wardrobes are a very popular form of help, especially in the winter months, when staying on the street is very risky. In society, however, we have differing views on these actions. Some welcome the activity, some do not, especially because of the fear of crowding around and possible pollution and clutter.

If you are thinking of creating more wardrobes, do not be afraid to write to us, we will be happy to share the experience and put our hand to the work.
